Martusciello's Bakery Inc's roots began in a town in Italy called Pignataro Maggiore by Gaetano Martusciello. Martusciello's father Gaetano learned the bread trade and migrated to the United States. Around 1959, he opened a small neighborhood store at 229 Saratoga Street. Stopped in today, picked up a pound of fig cookies and a few other things. When I got home brewed some coffee and bit into a cookie, it was so stale I spit it out. Asked my wife to try one and she did the same. Called them on the phone and was told to bring them back which I did. Upon arrival they took them back and I said there are more of the same batch still in the case for sale, got a dirty look and no answer.
