VERY VERY rainbow friendly – We went on Friday 5/5/06 Cinco De Mayo I believe we were the only male/female couple there... NO WORRIRES :) Wonderful food, presentation was gorgeous, taste was delicious. We had no trouble at all with service very attentive. If you go on the website they have old menus posted my BF had the Chicken Penne and it was very good I ordered the veal but it was breaded and extremely greasy I sent it back. The appetizer Trio we HIGHLY recommend as well as the Key Lime Pie for dessert. Atmosphere is nice... read more
Good value... – Nice dinner, good food and cute waiter... we ll be back
Overrated, Indeed! – I had the prime rib and my friend had the filet mignon. We both thought the food was pretty good, but overpriced. The service was pretty poor, in fact, we never even received a glass of water with our drinks. Also, if you want some privacy, this is definitely not the place. The tables are right next to each other - cafeteria style.
The most overrated restaurant in West Hollywood – I've dined at Mark's many times over the years, and can honestly say that I've never had a memorable meal at this establishment. The food at times can border on shoe leather in texture. The waiters are definitely a feast for the eyes, but it's too bad that the menu doesn't match. It reminds me of an old Buddy Cole line from "Kids in the Hall"...."Oh the food is terrible, but the waiter's HILARIOUS."
Food is too salty, tables are crowded, patio too drafty! – My husband and I both had the beet salad and sea bass. The beet salad was not what I expected but was good. It was a mousse. The skin on the sea bass was tough and the fish itself somewhat mushy. It came on a bed of very very salty spinach. The service was good, but the patio room where we sat by the door was drafty. Apparently they remodeled since we were last there, but didn't really address the patio's problems with noise from the street and draftiness. There just... read more
If only the food was as tasty as the waiters! – Okay -- I've been going to Mark's for many years and I must say it is the way hot waiters that get me there, not the food. I have had good food there, but often it disappoints. Most recently I had the lamb and my partner had the surf and turf--- both were the highest price entree and both were pretty bad. ...but I can still taste that waiter Damon!
The chef rules!! – Chef Cookie rocks!!!! The food here is amazing and the waitstaff is so friendly and, well... hot. Caberet nights are a blast and the whole vibe is very relaxed. Great place anytime, especially in the evenings and the drinks are great also. And ask for Chef Cookie - tell him you love 'im
Delicious – I've been to Mark's twice in the past couple of weeks because I just love the food and my friends and I have such a great time when we go. The casual ambience, the friendly staff, delicious food - I could go on for ever. Part of the reason for our frequent visits is the value. I will keep coming back.
