Dr. Schultzel is very assuring and confident in his approach to caring for the need for orthopedic surgery. He explains the procedure fully and is patient with questions. His day of surgery care and information sharing with my husband was very reassuring. The in hospital care by Dr. Schultzel and his colleagues was also very comforting. After surgery check-ins and scheduled care made me feel as though there was no rush- he was available as long as i needed to have his attention and care. His support staff are professional an... read more

Dr. Mark Schultzel is an excellent surgeon who performed surgery on me for total reverse shoulder replacement February 1. On May 1, I started an 8-day hiking adventure in Italy and forgot that I’d had shoulder surgery. I’d put off surgery for two years after hearing I needed it. There were a lot of horror stories about shoulder surgeries. My surgery and recovery were uneventful, which I attribute in large part to Dr. Schultzel’s training, and his very specific approach and instructions before, during and after surgery. He ha... read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Schultzel for about two years. I find him to be not only knowledgeable but also kind and patient. He takes time to discuss my orthopedic problem and the my options. If it were not for his treatment of my shoulder, I would not be able to carry on with the activities I enjoy. He is a wonderful doctor.

Severe pain in my shoulder gave me complaints of not being able to lift my arm or sleep without waking multiple times. I had to discontinue a sport I have grown to love-pickleball. The first time I met Dr. Schultzel, he reviewed my x-rays and showed great compassion and empathy. He explained my condition and the treatment he recommended for my particular situation in great detail-a reverse shoulder replacement. He assured me that the procedure would alleviate the severe pain and greatly increase my range of motion, getting m... read more

After suffering a severe shoulder injury in 2016, I was worried about possible rotator cuff repair surgery having heard horror stories about severe pain, long recovery times, and poor outcomes. I was referred to Dr. Mark Schultzel who recommended a reverse total shoulder joint replacement rather than traditional rotator cuff surgery. He said it had better outcomes, less pain, and shorter recovery times than traditional surgery, especially for older patients (I’m in my 80’s). Although it sounded too good to be true, he was ri... read more

I'm not in the habit of leaving reviews for things I buy or for services rendered, but in this case I will make an exception. I was diagnosed with sever osteoarthritis in my left shoulder and was given Dr. Schultzel as my surgeon. After discussing my options for replacement with him I went in for surgery. I have to say that I was VERY pleased with the outcome. Having already had a knee and hip replacement though, I knew that was only half the battle, the rest of the recovery was up to me. Being adamant about doing the exerci... read more

Dec.,2016 I injured my upper right shoulder. I had several visits then had an x-ray to discover I have a torn rotator cuff. On 4/2017 was my first exam with Dr. Schultzel and received my first cortisone injection which was a great relief of my pain. I now receive the cortisone every 3 months to control the pain.Due to my age of 83, this is the best type of care i need. Norma Tonin

Arriving in the ER with a shattered shoulder, I was so lucky to be referred to Dr Mark Schultzel for surgery. In the process he not only replaced my shoulder with a new artificial one,he repaired a severely fractured 78 year old set of bones. Not only is he a skilled surgeon, he is engaging and most comforting. Since my successful surgery was now one year ago, with no inhibiting results. I must wait one year to see him again.
