I have been wearing extensions for over 8 years and have been to a large handful of "extensionists", so I am quite versed in the area. I think Mark might be the most talented stylist that has ever had worked on my extensions. The colors blend perfectly, the cut is amazing and my extensions look awesome! My hair is thick and beautiful. I will be a lifelong client.
If you want the BEST, look no further!!!! Mark IS AMAZING!!!! He seriously answered every question I had, and was so personable!!! The truth is....I have been going to a high end salon on Wooster street for a very long time, where my "friend" did my hair (with great lengths) for a reasonable price, and all the sudden told me I had to pay what every other customer had to pay ($1500) which was craaaazy to me, since I know the actual cost of the hair. My experience with Mark was great! I was a hair extension virgin and decided on them because my hair has become very unhealthy and decided to try something different. MOM is amazing. More specifically- Mark and Staffs are amazing. The salon is a bit pricey up front, but in the end more affordable and worth every penny. I went to Mark once for hair color and the color has lasted and faded gorgeously. It has been more than 8 weeks and I still don't need to return for a touch-up. THAT IS GOOD COLOR! An absolute life and style saver! I found this place after a few bad experiences in our new city NY. Mark is not only a fantastic barber/stylist (and a popular one, so make appointments) he's also a solid, sincere and really fantastic gentleman. I'm so glad I tried Mark On Madison! My hair was looking too long and weighed down and I wanted a cut. I found these excellent reviews on CitySearch, and decided to call for an appt. Each of my experiences at this salon have been wonderful. My appointments for cut and color have been with Mark and he is the best!. I had to leave a hairdresser I loved when I moved and couldn't be happier with my choice of MOM and Mark. He made some very helpful suggestions about better choices for the color that has been used on my hair for years. He has also been supportive of hairstyle changes I have wanted to make recently. I would recommend MOM especially to anyone who is looking for a high quality salon experience.
I've been getting my hair cut by Mark for a few years now. I've always been satisfied with how the cuts come out, much more so than at the other places I've tried in NY. He's very friendly, he's not too pricey, and he takes a clearly professional interest in barbering. The one caveat I'd offer is that they're often very busy / in-demand, and so you may end up waiting a while, especially if you want a specific barber and not just the next person available. I recently moved to NY from out of state and needed a new salon. I was recommend to Mark On Madison from a co-worker and couldn't be happier to have found this salon. I have my hair cut and glossed by Mark who is very attentive and asks many questions to ensure he is giving you exactly what you want.
