Since 1921, Margie's has been making its own candy and ice cream, and it still uses only the best ingredients to produce the best product in Chicago. Family owned for generations, this spot has withstood the brutal ups-and-downs of this neighborhood for over 70 years. Well worth a visit, even for the most discriminating sweet tooth.

My husband and I were on holiday from Sydney and my son and daughter in law who live in Chicago took us there. The place is amazing, we all shared fifteen scoops of icecream and each flavour we chose was delicious. We would highly recommend going there :-)
Best banana split I ever had! I'm coming back!!!!!
We were 2 people and we had to wait an hour and even then we didn't get a seat. The place was so crowded. We decided to come because of the fame it had. But our seat did not look like it was coming anytime soon. Very bad expierence. Maybe if we give it another shot it will have to be on a less busy day.
Best ice cream in Chicago! The turtle sundae and old fashioned banana split are a must.
