My father lived at Maplewood for 8 months after complications from a stroke. It wasn't where he wanted to be or where we wanted him to be, we preferred that he stay home. But once he got all settled in we could see how caring the staff are to the residents. Dad was treated as an individual and he had many young people to joke with and tell stories to. My husband had young onset Alzheimer's and Lewy Body Dementia. He was at Maplewood during the last few months of his life and the care he received was amazing. The staff treated him so tenderly and with so much compassion it almost made me cry. It was very clear that everyone had been trained in dementia care, which is so important. My mom has been in Maplewood for a year and we LOVE the staff there. They are her "angels" and they take great care of her. I love the way it feels like home when you walk in and not a "facility". THANK YOU! for the excellent care & love you give mom. I can always leave with a peace of mind knowing she's in good hands when I leave her from our visits!
