Horrible Food, Bad Atmosphere, Good Service – We went to Maggiano's on Wed night for my sister-in-laws birthday. Our reservation was for 11 people for 7:30 pm. We were seated promptly, and had a very nice waitress. However, our table was very clearly a table for 8 around which they CRAMMED 11 chairs. The tables on either side of us were so close, when we had to get up to use the restroom, we had to tap the people behind us and ask them to get up too so we could move our chairs out. Polite, Prompt and Understanding – My friends and I decided to go to Maggiano's on a Saturday night, on the spur of the moment. We were a party of 8 and just a group of teenagers. Usually, we're pretty harshly turned away or just ignored by waitstaff or the hostess; however, that night we were all seated in about 15 minutes without a reservation. The other reviewers must be crazy! – This is the best Italian restaurant. The staff and food are great. There was a part in someone's review that said they sing Happy Birthday 25 times a night. WRONG! They don't sing! This place is a upscale restaurant! (Must be there competition). It was fantastic!
RUDEST STAFF!! – THE STAFF IS SOOOOO RUDE!!! That's the first thing I want to mention. Oh my gosh, they yelled at kids and the parents standing by the door saying they didn't want them to be in the way for their customers. Uh.... aren't THEY customers too? They were mad because at the last minute our party downsized like we did it on purpose and they made us wait another 15-20 min to "rearrange" the table. Okay service, bad food. – If you are ready to eat some marinara that tastes like Ketchup, then you are in for a treat. The portions are big, but what is the point if you don't like it. The best part was the kids' meal of simple macaroni and cheese. Never going again....
Ugh...manufactured nostalgia, criminally over-priced mediocre food and lousy service – I don't even know where to begin from the fact that we had a reservation for 10 and still had to wait, to the LOUD, overcrowded dining room, to the non-existent "all-you-can-eat" menu. I don't even like Bucca di Beppo and I'd go there over this place any day of the week. At least Bucca's isn't pretending to be something it's not. Terrible service, bland food, and a bloated check – I went with a party of twelve. We were seated more or less promptly, but we didn't see our waiter for half an hour. He took our order and our appetizers were brought out fairly quickly. The crab cakes were decent, as was the bruschetta, but when we asked for more crab cakes it took a VERY long time and several reminders to the waiter to get them. Better than I expected but needs some fine-tuning – We had reservations for a large party for lunch on January 1st. I checked in early as I was the first one there and we waited for the rest of our party arrived. Lobby: Waiting in the lobby is painful as its terribly small and you feel as though you're in the way of everyone else trying to get the attention of the hostess.
