My mom just had hip replacement surgery. From the time she was brought to Hamot by ambulance to the time she is in recovery at McGee she has had excellent care. From the people mopping the floors to the doctors and nurses, aides , therapists. I am so relaxed knowing my mom is in their care. Her room has a beautiful view and she has been treated wonderfully. I will be praising this hospital in the future. In a world that is lacking in kindness and service this experience has been a welcome blessing. Thank you!! Kelley Wood
Details of my own experience....hah to be frank...it was my most traumatic experience yet in life. (And I've done Psychedelics that caused some pretty terrifying moments...nothing like what I was about to experience.) BUT the absolute angels of nurses and doctors here helped me through every single step of the way!!! I had my gallbladder removed here yesterday on the 3rd floor. I suffer from horrible anxiety and it’s always a struggle to find somewhere to take my blood or get an iv in (shout out to lady who came from the special iv team and got it her first try) I think it was Jenn Williams or Gourley that was my nurse, she couldn’t have been more amazing at her job, she did everything she possibly could to make me comfortable. Some of the best pregnancy care I've ever had. 2 cesarean sections and wonderful aftercare. The doctors are very caring and compassionate, and having the pittsburgh specialist available here too instead of having to travel for child cardiology was a blessing for me in many ways. It felt more like a family when I was in the OR as compared to a surgery team
Erie medical care is quite terrible, but this hospital amd affiliated staff are at the top of the list. Not only did this facility allow my daughter to be discharged 48 hours after a c-section after a terrible pregnancy, but they sent her home with dangerously low HGB levels. As she became sicker at home while trying to care for a newborn, she went back to the hospital and low and behold - she needed a blood transfusion two days after discharge.
