About this business

Authentic Irish food can be found at this hidden gem in Old Village near the Navy base. The prime rib sandwich and fish and chips are just a couple of the popular items on its extensive menu. There's a full bar with happy hour and a large selection of beers. Sports fans can watch live games on one of the many TVs mounted on the walls around the restaurant. Open daily for lunch and dinner, the restaurant also has a very popular Sunday jazz brunch. Street parking is available, and there is a smoking section. -Natasha Lawrence

I recently had some friends in town and we decided to try Madra Rua for the first time. We got a good vibe from the atmosphere and all of the staff was very friendly. My friends aren't generally pub type people, but our waitress Trish was extremely accommodating. She suggested several beers for us to try and we all fell in love with the Guinness/Cider combo! We didn't go in for food, but Trish suggested a few items and we decided to split appetizers. The food was great! We will definitely be back!

The server we had went all out for us. Her name was Trish. We totally had a wonderful experience and the fish and chips were to die for just like she said. Shout out to our Server Trish. Thank you!!!

My only complaint is that the server didn't write down our orders and forgot one of our appetizers. But the food is phenomenal, the atmosphere great, and overall a good experience. I've been here quite a few times and I always leave satisfied. I moved away from Charleston a year ago and I was so excited to come to Madra's when I visited. Try the Irish nachos -- homemade potato chips covered in shepherd's pie filling and cheese.

My friends and I went in for an early dinner and let's just say, we didn't stay. We've been many times, and have never been treated the way we were this day. The server was horribly rude. She acted like it was an inconvenience to help us. She didn't explain the shortened menu, and basically threw them on the table. We asked and she got an attitude. We left and went to dig! Customer service needs some help. It was around 230 on Sunday.
