Was a mainstay, a local's favorite, and pretty good food. Miss the place. Hopefully will be rebuilt quickly
I miss the lilikoi margaritas and the friendly staff..most of all the family.
Best Carnitas, Guac, Drinks and Service in Pahoa. Love the food and atmosphere. Miss them very much I am going to try the food truck soon. Can't wait to have them back, I hope they rebuild it soon.
The food truck is great...food is superb, the chips are warm...it's great to have "our" restaurant back!
Not only is the food authentic it is also the best Mexican food on the Big Island!! Waaay better than Ruebens in Hilo. I don't understand why they win the " Best of East Hawaii" every year and not Luquins! We should change that!!
We loved luquins. Food was good. Service was good. Lilikoi margaritas the best ever. Miss this place. Now going to the food truck till they rebuild.
This used to be my favorite hangout, and everyone else in town too...local resident and tourist alike...until some drug addled homeless folks started a fire in the abandoned building next door and burned the 109 year old Luquin's Mexican Restaurant to the ground. It was THE place in Pahoa. Luquin's is back...as a lunch wagon, for the time being. The food is every bit as good as it always was. The people are still wonderful and upbeat. You can't get a cool refreshing margarita...yet...but I hear that they are working on that.... read more
