About this business

This Italian trattoria caters to a young, attractive downtown crowd, but one that appreciates good food as much as a hip scene. Lupa is co-owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali and restaurateur Joe Bastianich, also partners in Esca and Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca. The waiters at Lupa are knowledgeable about the food, and prices are surprisingly moderate. Signature dishes range from home-cured Mortadella to excellent pasta. Been here many times before & had loved it but this time was definitely not what it used to be. Porchetta was way way overcooked & the carbonara which as previously the best I’ve had was just meh.

We did the pasta tasting menu - the food was so salty it was barely edible.

We ordered the Bucatini All’Amatriciana and Bavette Cacio e Pepe, both of which were simple, flavorful, and delicious. Our waiter recommended the Cirò Rosso Classico Suoeriore, which we also loved.

We tried casarecce with short rib ragu and bucatini all’amatriciana here, both were very good.

Delicious pastas. Great wine list. Very cute place with an authentic feel.

Upscale italian flare. The spaghetti carbonara is the best we’ve ever had and could give Italy a real competition, with perfectly creamy sauce and well-rendered pancetta.

I loved this place both for their drinks, food and dessert. Pastas are amazing.
