About this business

This Italian trattoria caters to a young, attractive downtown crowd, but one that appreciates good food as much as a hip scene. Lupa is co-owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali and restaurateur Joe Bastianich, also partners in Esca and Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca. The waiters at Lupa are knowledgeable about the food, and prices are surprisingly moderate. Signature dishes range from home-cured Mortadella to excellent pasta. Great spot. Try the oxtail, charcuterie board, burrata cheese, Brussel sprouts, rigatoni Bolognese

Some of the best burrata in the city. Cacio e pepe or the mushroom papardelle is a must. They are happy to split pastas between 2 as well.

Been here many times before & had loved it but this time was definitely not what it used to be. Porchetta was way way overcooked & the carbonara which as previously the best I’ve had was just meh.

We did the pasta tasting menu - the food was so salty it was barely edible.

We ordered the Bucatini All’Amatriciana and Bavette Cacio e Pepe, both of which were simple, flavorful, and delicious. Our waiter recommended the Cirò Rosso Classico Suoeriore, which we also loved.
