About this business

This Italian trattoria caters to a young, attractive downtown crowd, but one that appreciates good food as much as a hip scene. Lupa is co-owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali and restaurateur Joe Bastianich, also partners in Esca and Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca. The waiters at Lupa are knowledgeable about the food, and prices are surprisingly moderate. Signature dishes range from home-cured Mortadella to excellent pasta. Do the Roman tasting menu and split a bottle of wine. Each pasta was delicious. The ravioli randomly stood out. You will leave stuffed!!

Finally tried this place on a Thurs 10pm. A candle lit/dim ambiance was good. Warm prosciutto salad/ cacio e pepe/ carbonara were all very simple but flavorful. Tartufo was very rich/ hazelnut-y!!

The gnocchi is made here with ricotta rather than typical potato so makes for a creamier dreamier version!!

My love for Italian started here. I still dream of their ragu. It's inspired a trend to try ragu everywhere I go, nothing has come close.
