Lupa is co-owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali and restaurateur Joe Bastianich, also partners in Esca and Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca. The waiters at Lupa are knowledgeable about the food, and prices are surprisingly moderate. Signature dishes range from home-cured Mortadella to excellent pasta. Hands down my favorite restaurant in Manhattan. The escarole salad is a MUST.

Promised a place in half an hour. We waited over an hour and got just false smiles, but NO table! We went to eat at the neighbors.

Batali-Bastianich's Italian trattoria is always busy, so make reservations in advance. The well-executed pastas, such as the spaghetti pomodoro, and plates (the pork belly!) are well worth the hassle.

I.would skip this place. Very long wait for service, mediocre food and poor presentation. Had to flag someone down for water to start and check after waiting 15 min each.
