About this business

This Italian trattoria caters to a young, attractive downtown crowd, but one that appreciates good food as much as a hip scene. Lupa is co-owned by celebrity chef Mario Batali and restaurateur Joe Bastianich, also partners in Esca and Babbo Ristorante e Enoteca. The waiters at Lupa are knowledgeable about the food, and prices are surprisingly moderate. Signature dishes range from home-cured Mortadella to excellent pasta. All about the pasta here. Skip the entrees. Go with the garganelli, and have a glass of Barolo. Get the tripe if they have it. Lots of wines from Bastianch. (4 of 4 petals via Fondu)

They have a great white wine selection which we recommend pairing with their bavette cacao and pepe entrée. The formaggi cheese is just potent enough and not at all overwhelming

Think of Lupa as Babbo's little brother. Go for lunch - it’s easier to get a table.

Another Mario Batali restaurant, Lupa is a nice casual place with classic Italian dishes and a nice atmosphere. Try one of their pastas, we recommend the Ricotta Gnocchi.
