About this business

December 31st 2005 was the last night for the popular and fun Pelican Club in Cape May. It was our landlord’s decision to turn that space into condominium units (a trend that is all too familiar on the east coast shore towns, but that is a whole different story), so we (the Pelican Club Family) had to move on. Opportunity arose and we were able to secure a lease at the site of the former Anchorage Inn (and one season as Restaurant 1919). Nor at all pleased. Eat out alot and would only call this a tourist trap with sub par food and ridiculous pricing and very poor service. After being seated we sat with our menus for 20 minutes before being acknowledged. Was always curious and wanted to try it and tried tonight only because Lobster House was closed due to weather related problems. Will certainly be returning to Cape May but NEVER Lucky Bones.

Our very first visit! If it's like this every time you can count on our return(s)! I do a lot of birding down in Cape May and it's nice to find a place where quality food can be had while wearing very casual field attire. The fried oyster appetizer was wonderful with 6 very fresh, crisply breaded briny oysters done to perfection. The Italian Stallion individual pizza had a great crisp thin crust and washing it down with a Dogfishhead 90 Minute IPA - on tap! - made up for us missing some of the species we set out to find.

I was at Lucky Bones on Friday night (11/27) and the bartender Jeff was AMAZING! He was helpful and interactive and a pleasure to be around. Usually when you go to a bar and your not a regular the bartenders can be a little snotty to you but not at Lucky Bones with Jeff. Thank you so much Lucky Bones for having such a great bartender. Our experience was top notch. The food was fabulous too!!!
