Professorial, competent, knowledgeable, condescending to patient, rigid, authoritarian in her approach as doctor, she dismissed treatments and meds out of hand from my previous primary care MD (she is not an MD). She is not a partner with the patient but rather a parent and I am in my eighties! Not recommended. On staff at DRMC. Beware.
I relied on health grades 4 plus star rating to select this doctor as my PCP. Called to make an appointment, turns out Dr Carlson no longer sees patients. She just supervises the residents who are the actual doctors who see patients. If you are ok with someone with 3 or less years experience to handle your medical needs fine, but in any case this fact should be stated clearly on this website. it was nice and easy in and out my referrals where sent out next day and I was called with info reg referral Eneyda was super nice and helpful .
When I called about having Covid (I didn’t think it would be strange to call my Primary to get advice), a little worried I got no empathy, recommendations or suggestion. 2 days ago I called because I was in severe pain & the front desk casually said they have an appt next Friday. My old doc who retired, they would have told you to come down and wait. There may be a cancellation or no show or to squeeze me in. The doctor wasn't attentive to my file and requirements, miscommunication more than twice left me feeling like a number. Staff is cold and unhelpful at times.
Best experience. Saw Dr. Carlsen and Dr. Patel. Both doctors were so nice and listened. KK and Anita are always helpful.
I was willing to give this practice a try and thought I was a good candidate for a residency practice. I found it not a good fit for me. The practice did see me right away after I left Kaiser. However, renewing prescriptions was difficult and I never saw Dr Carlson. The appointments are over long. I would not recommend the practice based on my experience.
Dr. Carlson is one of the great ones! KK and Chane are always so sweet.
