Excellent Park! Well maintained! Also the Geocaches are well maintained. Thank you for this beautiful place!!!
We have been many times with our children and grandchildren. Ive also taken my special needs students on a field trip 2 years in a row. This park never disappoints! Plan ahead for peak times and dont be surprised when it hits capacity. Early bird gets the worm!
Had another fantastic camping weekend. The colors were better in the camping area then on the East Trail Hike. Altho any time spent outdoors is a time well spent. See ya next year!
My wife and I drove over four hours to come to this park. When we arrived at 1030 am the very rude state park police guy said we are closed and offered no time frame on when they would re open. He only told us to leave. Worst state park I have ever visited and me and my wife have visited over 20 of them. If they are having too many people coming perhaps they need a reservation system like Hamilton pool in Austin did. Loved being able to bring our dogs on the trails!
What a fantastic park! The drive from San Antonio was very scenic as well. Their FB page admin is great - responded back to my msg within 30min of my enquiry. The scenic lookout from the East trail is well worth the steep upwards hike.
RecommendedMy wife Katie and I with our two children now grown, have been riding out to the park for our annual ''fall fix'' since I was first made aware of the park's special gift. 04' was our first visit. We always make time for a stop in Medina for lunch at the Love Creek Patio Cafe. A hidden gem. Simple burgers cooked up fresh with everything crisp on sweet kolache style buns with jalapeños baked in their on site bakery.
