One of my favorite places to backpack when in Boy Scouts in the 90s. Finally got a chance to come back this past weekend and had a blast despite the cold front coming in. I highly recommend the primitive camping and to make the trek to the west trail.
Can't say much. Drove for 3 hours with 4 children just to be told we had to leave...they closed the park due to too many people. It was my daughters birthday and that is the only thing she wanted to do. I don't know if we will make that drive again but we all sure wanted to go and we were very disappointed. If we do try again, I pray we have better luck next time.
I love this park. The scenery is beautiful. My kids and I enjoy coming here every year.

A must visit in the fall/spring but tough to beat the crowds.thankful for the foliage updates on the colors change..saves you a trip out and no color in the leaves. I very scenic drive in the surrounding area
My first time here and I absolutely loved it! The foliage hasn't changed much (the weather is still too warm), but this place still offers stunning views, winding creeks and river beds, water falls, cliff sides, rock formations, and beautiful tree canopies. I will definitely be coming back. Also, be sure to wear good, comfortable hiking shoes. The walking paths are a bit rocky and slippery in some spots.
