Avoid. – Locanda Veneta was referred to me by a friend who has impeccable taste in food, wine, and the finer things. He recommended Locanda Veneta as a great romantic dinner spot with excellent food and a superior wine list. One of the best Italian restaurants in L.A. – Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. They overcooked my friends filet mignon at first, and after we sent it back, they have replaced the steak with New York steakwe suspected it was not the filet mignon because the cut and the tenderness. Yum – Good service, great wine (try the Poppy Pinot Noir), great food. My bf and I ordered a Caprese to start...the server also gave us a special balsamic on the side and it was one of the best balsamic vinegars I had ever had...sweet and syrupy...high quality. Amazing birthday experience! – My boyfriend and I sat outside on the patio for my birthday and it was amazing. We had a delicious salad to start with treviso radicchio and shaved parmesan. I had linguine with clams and lobster in a light slightly spicy tomato sauce and he had veal "pizzaiola" with tomato sauce and burrata cheese. We absolutely cleaned our plates. Always a winner! – My husband and I have been there at least 20 times over the last few years. It's now our Italian restaurant of choice and refuse to change. ALL meals we've had, have been excellent and all wine selections are the perfect complement to the meal.
Nice Evening – Went here last week with my girlfriends for dinner....although they were out of every "special" I wanted that night - I really enjoyed what I did get, some kind of pasta with mushrooms... I will agree with the last person that service was attentive but not intrusive. We sat there for A LONG time and the place was packed (surprising for a wednesday night) and we never got evil looks...I would go back for sure.
A great find – The food was delicious, well-prepared and filling. The service was just right - attentive but not intrusive. Slightly on the pricy side, but well worth it.
