Great atmosphere. We have had breakfast there 3 times. It is always very good.
The food is still decent but the service isn't what it used to be.
The location is great and aesthetics are def reminiscent of a true local diner. Food is alright. Sole purpose to come here was to try the corn beef hash. Unfortunately, it tasted and looked like canned food. I asked for toast with order. Received it AFTER I finished my dish... beats the purpose. The pancakes are huge - so that's fun for the kids. First timers. We've heard many good things about The Local Diner and wanted to check it out. The service was good, attentive and prompt. It might have been nice to be greeted with a smile or a small bit of banter but I don't judge off of that. It's a busy place and our server was busy and probably tired. Again no deductions for lack of interaction. The food was above average and it was plentiful. It wasn't hot but it was warm and that is acceptable. 4 stars for all the cool Hollywood memorabilia and food, 1 star for our server. I didn't catch her name and her name wasn't on our ticket. She just seemed abrupt towards my husband and me at times, and I could not have been nicer to her, because I know what it's like to work with the public. I ordered something to go that had to be added to our bill and she quickly grabbed the bill like she was irritated that I ordered something else.
