She is absolutely the best. She is not a regular pediatrician, but a specialist in adolescent medicine who knows how to talk to adolescents in a straightforward way. Dr. Linda Schack is a real angel. She did not only take great care of my daughters, in particular to my 12 year old, but she always takes time for personal touches. Dr. Schack is an outstanding professional doctor that I will always be thankful for.
My son has struggled for years with an eating disorder. When his weight dropped to an alarming level, we found our way to Dr. Schack (after years of seeing various specialists). Dr. Schack convinced him that he needed to be hospitalized, and in his three weeks at Torrance Memorial, she got him stabilized and avoided refeeding syndrome. My son is still struggling with his disorder, but medically he is stable. I don't know what would have happened if not for Dr. Schack and the program.
Our family experience with Dr. Schack was exceptional. She was very thorough in her treatment and caring of our family member and she was always available to answer the myriad of questions we had throughout the care she provided. Dr Schack came highly recommended through another agency and we are truly fortunate that we connected with her. Her medical team is one of the best - there was open communications, scheduled meetings, one-on-one sessions and good follow up. One of the Best!
I would highly recommend Dr.Schack to anyone seeking competent, experienced care for a loved one suffering from an eating disorder. Dr. Schack has assembled a first rate team that covers all bases and produces results. Our daughter began to improve immediately and dramatically following her first visit to Dr. Schack.
