I don't know if any of my platelets helped save the life of my buddy Big John McCoy of 92.5s Hatfield & McCoy or not, but someone's sure did, and that's good enough for me. 13 gallons and still climbing.
I've been donating at the Ames center for a few years now. The process is quick, convenient, and the staff are wonderful. I would encourage everyone to try it. Even one or two donations a year makes a difference!
Easily one of the best organizations in the state. It ry to donate platelets as often as possible, but I can't always find the time. Keep being awesome!

I try to donate every 8 weeks and especially around the holidays. It's convenient, doesn't take up a lot of time unless you're like me...hanging around afterwards eating up the snacks. It gives me great joy to know I've helped someone. Just do it...bamboom!
