I had a colonoscopy by this "doctor" (who still somehow has a medical license). He began the colonoscopy on me while I was still awake. I didn't know at the time that not only this is unethical but (il)legal, so I didn't know I could tell him to stop, but just cried out in pain saying "it hurts, it hurts..." to which he kept saying, "Just hang in there." One of the nurses, Jenny, held my hand as I cried, lying on my left side facing her and I was being physically violated.
Dr. Leichus, has experience serving patients and respectful in best medically approaches when answering questions. Overall, he's very knowledgeable in his field.
Good Doctor, the problem I have is he is not seeing patients on Fridays anymore & that is the only day I can come without major inconvenience also I wish he had a full patient portal which would clear up any miss understandings I have about my care plan & info. My condition is complex & i left from my last visit very confused. Also it is difficult to contact staff after a visit & there seems to be more patients than they can handle. I still recommend him.
Staff refuses to leave message for Dr. Leichus. Dr. Leichus diagnosed me with a chronic problem, prescribed non-narcodic meds. and the staff insist I must come in to the office to get refills. This doctor has turned into a colonoscopy 'assembly line'.
This doctor just throws drugs at symptoms without explaining anything. He made rapid fire diagnoses with seemingly no information about my GI history and had little interest in listening to me or answering my questions. He literally walked out of the room as I was asking him things. The ease with which he flips through patients like a gossip magazine and excessively prescribes medications is truly unethical. Patients are purely a means to his and his drug sponsors’ end of maximizing profits.
I was so hopeful when I left Dr. Leichus office. He actually listened to me and told me that not many people have my problem but with time he could help me. I had went there thinking that I needed surgery because another GI had told me I probably needed it. Dr. Leichus said surgery would be my last option because he thought other non-surgical options would work. I would definitely recommend him.
Not everyone comes to the internet to leave negative reviews, however, I really advise any person considering this physician not discount the numerous negative reviews. He performed a procedure on me and had the nurse explain what would happen. When I showed up for my followup appointment I was seen by a medical student. I questioned when I would see the doctor and she explained she could get a nurse. The nurse rudely let me know he was not there and I could schedule another appointment and pay.
All in all a good experience. Dr. Leichus helped me with my GI issues. When I suggested his office needed updating he stated the building owners were about to remodel his office. Dr. Leichus himself was a pleasure and answered all of my questions. I was a bit worried after reading some of the other reviews.
Just moved here from out of town and needed a GI doc. I read the reviews and quickly discounted the vast majority. It is sad that people flock to the internet and leave negative reviews about businesses. At any rate, I called Dr. Leichus's office to make an appointment and the staff scheduled me right away. The staff was friendly as was Dr. Leichus. He answered all of my questions and ordered appropriate testing. I am more than happy with my experience with him.
Leichus Leonard MD has a 2.5 star rating with 37 reviews.
