I never had a hospital tell me to go to a different hospital because they do not accept my insurance from Federal Workmans Comp. My family doctor is a Lecom doctor and getting a message to him is nearly impossible. First time in my life to be refused treatment and told to go to Hamot. I'm not to sure what I will do now for surgery.
While in with my mother for a scheduled procedure, we were still waiting in the hall unregistered for 20minutes after the appt time. When the person came to get her I asked if I could go with her (she has dementia and gets easily confused) and he was very snotty and said “I guess” He was however EXTREMELY good to her. Was at MCH for outpatient cataract surgery. First of all, the waiting room is tiny and uncomfortable. It was standing room only and they have none of the amenities that the other surgery centers offer - comfortable seating, coffee, rest room, good ambiance. I felt bad for my friend who accompanied me. Next, they put me in a room and told me to put my things in a locker, which I did.
