Great place to paddle, even for beginners. The water is calm, clear and for the most part, pretty shallow in this area. You'll definitely see some fish and if you get lucky, a starfish or manatee. (No manatee sightings for us today, unfortunately.) The Lazy Dog staff is awesome and you can either do a tour with them as a group or they'll give you some hot spots to go to if you want to go off on your own, which is what we did. Great place! Friendly informative staff. We rented paddle boards for 2 hours and they gave us a map so we could trek around and discover things on our own. It was our second time paddle boarding and the quick lesson she gave us helped a lot. They do offer guided tours as well but we wanted to explore on our own. We went down the Riviera canal and weaved our way through the mangroves. Got to see a lot of cool nature and sea life that lives in the groves. Would definite rent from them again, but I think we'll be buying our own... read more

B² (Brian and Bethany) were awesome guides. Very knowledgeable and passionate. They did a good job of bracketing the group so that the more experience kayakers could set a pace while the less experienced ones were not left behind. Stops were frequent, well timed, and filled with very good information about the local flora and fauna. It was easily the highlight of our trip. A+
