The Dr was very prompt professional and empathetic to my issue. I appreciate his frankness and the manner in which he goes about his profession.
I was referred to Dr. Stern after cancer was found during a colonoscopy visit. He was very comforting yet honest about the whole process. His professionalism was greatly appreciated and I would recommend him to anyone who requires his services. My surgery went very well thanks to his work!
Dr Stern is a great surgeon. He is extremely thorough and honest. I left my initial appointment less scared than before. My surgery went great too. I recommend him!! I would give him more stars, if I could.
Very personable, explains exam and findings very clearly. Made me feel comfortable despite the uncomfortable situation
Went to Dr. Stern to discuss setting up a colonoscopy as I was due for one and had moved to the area. Figured it would be a bit wasteful as I have done this before. I was wrong - his office had already tracked down my prior results and he went over prior findings - I had actually forgotten some of things. He explained what we would need to do and some of the risks I hadn't realized. He took far more time than I had anticipated. I felt very confident in him and his staff.
Went in for a hemorrhoid banding and Dr Stern acted like I was an interruption that he didn't have time for. Didn't answer my questions or ask about my symptoms. His office called four times to move my appointment up by only 15 minutes then he kept me waiting beyond the original later time when there was no one else in the office. Very small office in Alexandria. Would never go back.
I was having urinary tract infections and my doctors couldn’t figure out why. It had been going on for over 1 year. I was sent to Dr. Stern. He asked questions no one else had before and told me I had a fistula – a connection from my colon to my bladder – I couldn’t believe that was a real thing. He told me about a robotic surgery to fix it. I was scared but he helped calm me down. Surgery went perfectly. His team was awesome. Months later – no infections! Thanks to Dr. Stern and his team.
I was having pain (in the rear) and was embarrassed. Dr. Stern put me at ease. He determined that I had a fissure. We discussed two options: surgery and medicine. He drew pictures to help me understand them. I opted for medicine, but it didn't work. I went forward with surgery; BEST decision I made. In a week my pain was gone. My friends were asking me why I was in such a good mood. I had no idea the pain was making me so miserable. Thank you Dr. Stern - you restored my health and HAPPINESS!!!
Awful. I would not recommend Dr. Stern. He recommended surgery and said that I would not get better without surgery. I went to another doctor and he said that I didn't even have what Dr. Stern said that I had. This doctor said I did not need surgery. Beware of Dr. Stern. Go elsewhere.
