The dining room has the look and feel of a cozy cafe. The decor is simple, with white walls, white tablecloths and gilt-framed paintings. Awesome cheese dip – I come to Lauriol Plaza for the cheese dip and margaritas. Overall, the food is good and comes in HUGE portions. The entrees are so big that I usually end up ordering a bunch of apps instead. The guac is limey, just the way I like it, and the salsa is chunky and fresh. Great margs – Frozen mango margaritas make me happy. Even when it's 40 degrees outside. I think it has something to do with the fact that I was rewarded with Slurpees for scholastic achievement until I was a teenager. I would get straight A's in middle school and be boosted that we could go get Slurpees. It wasn't until high school until I realized that my parents were geniuses. Fun Bar – Really enjoy going there on Sundays for the games.
Decent Sports Bar...bad dance club – Went out Thursday night to watch World Series game...decent sports bar w/ diverse crowd, young & old, black & white, fat & skinny, etc. The sports bar was pretty good, but the back room, which was turned into a dance club this night, was atrocious...fat chicks grinding on each other, vanilla ice looking guys dancing around, etc. I drank a couple of Makers & waters, had a few good laughs at the people stuck in the 90s, and then walked up the street to a better atmosphere.
Business Is Good! – I went to this restaurant on the border of Adams-Morgan and Dupont Circle on a Tuesday night. Good thing that I got there at 630pm. By 7pm, the place was packed!
