This is a festive restaurant, well loved for many years by neighborhood patrons. The restaurant has a delightful rooftop terrace for alfresco dining. The dining room has the look and feel of a cozy cafe. The decor is simple, with white walls, white tablecloths and gilt-framed paintings. Blending Spanish, Mexican and Tex-Mex traditions, the menu is strong on fajitas and grilled entrees. Classic paellas and the marinated pork dishes are also excellent.

Great food and service.
greatness – absolute authenticity: great service
Lots of hype but worth the try
I went recently to lauriol plaza for my anniversary for the first time and the food was so nasty the rice was very hard *probably old * and enchiladas weren't so good and my husband didn't even eat all of his fajitas the stake was very hard guapos out beat this place yuck
A positive dining experience – We were pleased with the menu choices, service, quality and ambiance. Overall positive in every way. Upscale atmosphere, generous helpings and fresh and tasty food at a very fair price. Our waitperson, Luis, was exceptional, and even gave advice on other dining locales to try on our visit to DC. A highlight of our trip.
The best server ever is Jameka!! the food and drinks are great!!
Classy Mexican Food Done Right – While entertaining some out of town friends this past weekend I decided to take them for a more fun girls night only dinner in the Dupont area. I had always heard great things about Lauriol Plaza from other friends but wasn't to sure what to expect. When entering in the multi-level restaurant, including top deck and outdoor seating, I immediately noticed it was a bit classier than I had originally thought. Hoping the menu wouldn't be too much out of my guest's price range I was pleasantly sur... read more
Awesome cheese dip – I come to Lauriol Plaza for the cheese dip and margaritas. Overall, the food is good and comes in HUGE portions. The entrees are so big that I usually end up ordering a bunch of apps instead. The guac is limey, just the way I like it, and the salsa is chunky and fresh. It can get really crowded though, especially during the summer. If you're looking to have a conversation, make sure you ask to sit on the third floor. The margaritas are the big draw for most people because they came in big pitchers for on... read more
Great margs – Frozen mango margaritas make me happy. Even when it's 40 degrees outside. I think it has something to do with the fact that I was rewarded with Slurpees for scholastic achievement until I was a teenager. I would get straight A's in middle school and be boosted that we could go get Slurpees. It wasn't until high school until I realized that my parents were geniuses. Some kids were being bribed with money, video games, cars and I was responding to Slurpees. So with that morsel of background, you can kind of under... read more
