An old neighborhood just to the Southwest of Downtown St. Louis, Lafayette Square was once among the wealthiest and most fashionable of St. Louis' neighborhoods, its large villas drawing the wealthy out from the downtown center. Lafayette Park, the last remaining of the old French common fields, was named after the Marquis de Lafayette, who visited St. Louis in 1825. We happened to find Laredo while visiting STL and had a chance to talk with the owner. I’m vegetarian, and she took the time to go over all of the ingredients with me to insure I wouldn’t eat anything with animal protein. My family (who eat meat) loved the cheese/chicken chimichangas and the shrimp empanadas! You can tell that the owners care a lot about their clientele, would definitely eat there again!
it was ok.. food was bland.. beef was not worth extra price.. margaritas were good though.
Good food! Fair prices! Great service! Friendly staff! Thank you for your welcome to the neighborhood. We'll be back for sure! Maria Elena
Had a Blast!!! Celebrated a birthday. First time to the resturant & will definately plan another outing there. Pat ... Thank you for your hospitality!!!
the tamales are very good I got chicken tamales
The service was great. The food was bland. The beef wasn’t worth the up charge. The chimichanga was bland and didn’t come with pick de gallo or guacamole. We were really disappointed.
Above and beyond the best and freshest Mexican food by far, is the heart of the proprietors, Pat and Loren. A culinary gem in the community crown of Lafayette Square. Plan an opportunity to dine indoor or outdoor in lovely weather, right across from Lafayette park. Bring your furry friends, they will be welcomed and watered.
The fajitas were amazing and the fish tacos! Get the queso and house-made chips while you wait for your food!
