I had a very disappointing experience with Lakeland Vascular Institute that ultimately caused me to cancel my scheduled UFE procedure. My surgery had been scheduled since June for August 12. The day before, I was told to bring prescription pain medication with me. The problem? I was never given a prescription. I was assured they would send it to my pharmacy. The care has been good and the results good as well with procedures to help with my pain. But it still seems that thinking out side the box needs work with LVI. My pain management doctor went on leave and my prescription stopped getting filed. A couple of calls a week or so ago said it would be filled in which it was not. I called again and was told they have no in house pain doctors available but could provide some outside the practice to get the prescription started again.
