We have owned a home here for about three and a half years and continue to much enjoy the lake which has lovely water and views and ample amenities.
We have been living here for 7 years now, and I'm so thankful to call LOW my home! Great people (mostly) and terrific amenities. The Board members give up many hours to make sure things are run smoothly. Phil Rhodenberg is the best GM ever! The only thing I don't like are complaints of those who don't like living here. No one is forced to live here. My pet peeve is trash that is left around even though there are trash cans nearby. We can do better than this!
Basically incompetent, but in solid tunnel visioned denial based on plank owners and elites running the show....

Obviously the lake is beautiful. Waited for a boat rental today on the advice of the marina manager john for over an hour. He rented the boat right out from under us in front of our children to the owner Georges friends. The friends were rude and looked like they were completely drugged out and super confrintational. What a joke!! George if you read this shame on you for your completely disgusting practices. Even your staff was blown away!! Shady ownership!!
I just called the Front Gate & Security about an issue I am having with security officers wearing RIOT GEAR to patrol our gated neighbood... and was laughed at by Officer Moore. As a resident of this neighborhood, I feel this person should be fired and I will see to it they are.
I love LOW! I have owned since 2002. Started part time so we could get away and relax with family. I have enjoyed it more since being full time 2012+. We love, lake, swimming, boating, Pools, Beaches, Equestrian, Fitness, Biking around lake, Restaurants, and Golfing ( not so good at it but I try), parks, so much more!!
We both came here from the hustle and bustle of Northern Virginia and wanted to be closer to nature, the mountains and water. We also wanted to find people who were friendly and took the time to speak. Well, we definitely found all the above here at Lake of the Woods!!! Best move EVER. We love our Lake and have been here since 2003! My only regret....I didn't build sooner and get out of Alexandria!
Exceptional place, with exceptional people❤️The volume of snow was overwhelming yet the LOW crew were truly phenomenal in carving safe roadways, Thank you. My neighbors were so kind to assist in clearing my driveway, thank you.
