Established in 2006, Chefs Ken Oringer and Michael Ginore believed that authentic Mexican cuisine would be very well received by Boston foodies. They teamed with the Lyons Group and created a power house team to present authentic Mexican fare in a lighter, cleaner presentation than we have grown accustom to in the North East. There vision is proudly presented as La Verdad. We are located very close to Fenway Park.

Most Improved after our 2nd visit!!! – OK, so our first visit to La Verdad was maybe a little too early to check out a new restaurant, the food & drinks were good but the service was another story. Being regular "foodies", my wife and I went back yesterday (sox were not playing) to give them a 2nd chance and what a different 1 month can make!!! The food was amazing, the fish taco and the guac & chips could not be fresher, the margaritas were MUCH better this time like they have mastered their recipe. And the service improved... read more
Not Ready for Prime time – We live in Trilogy, the new apartment building by Fenway, and were excited to try a new restaurant in our neighborhood. We were very disappointed. We went on a Friday night when the Red Sox were out of town. The place was empty but the service was terrible and the music was extremely loud. I ordered a Sangria that was basically just a glass of red wine (no fruit included). I will say that the food was good...we got the chips and guc and 5 tacos for the 2 of us. Hopefully, they improve the atmospher... read more
Great food and surprisingly good service – My boyfriend and I caught a meal at La Verdad before a show at the Avalon. Based on the past reviews of very poor service we were a bit worried about the timing and decided to forgo the server and sit at the bar. I think they got the message from the past reviews because we had an exceptional meal with fantastic service. Our food came out very quickly and it was delicious. We tried 4 different tacos and the guacamole. The tacos were served on super fresh soft taco shells and the mea... read more
Help wanted PLEASE! – Hate to have my first review ever be a negative one, but I feel compelled to warn others--and hopefully the restaurant will get a clue. Went there last night to check out this new spot before a show at Avalon. Unfortunately our expectation for a nice dining experience on Lansdowne was misguided by the thought that Ken Oringer was associated with this place (Clio and Toro fans). When we sat down, we ordered two margaritas and chips with guac. After a half hour of waiting, we started looking around to fin... read more
WORST SERVICE – We are big fans of Ken Oringer and were excited to try La Verdad. Unfortunately, we will not be going back. We sat at our table for 1 hr and 1/2 and only received one round of drinks and the waitress forgot about our appetizer order. We were so fed up - didn't even bother ordering dinner. La Verdad = F-
Nice Tacos ... but not cheap – My husband young child and I went and tryly enjoyed the selection of tacos - especially the shrimp. We each had two margaritas (not too potent), several small tacos, chips and salsa and gilled corn. The grilled corn appetizer was delicious. There is a nice selection of fresh juices. The seats were not very comfortable and the service was lacking. Our total bill with tip was $88. Not an inexpensive Mexican meal. My husband prefers the portion size of the tacos at El Pelon.
great food, horrible service – Went with a friend last night as it seemed like a great choice for Cinco de Mayo. Expected it to be crowded. Did not expect the host to try to discourage us from staying or the bartending staff to first set us up with drinks but then ignore our order of chips and guac while waiting for our table. Service remained bad after getting the table with one of our orders going to a nearby table instead of ours. Frankly expected much more. Will not be going back despite the truly good, authentic Mexican... read more
Best Mexican Food in Boston, BY FAR!! – WOW!!!! It is next to impossible to find good Mexican food in Boston, and it is completely out of the question to find a decent taqueria. When the best you can do is Anna's, you know you have a sad Mexican food scene. That being said, La Verdad is PHENOMENAL. I would rate it as comparable, and even better than many Mexican places in the Southwest I've visited. The price is right, too, with everything under $10. Try the Fish Tacos, they are delicious. Actually, everything I've had here ... read more
Exotic, enticing and...okay, slightly gimmicky--but the music is worth the price of admission. – The Decor Darkly lit, with that Indian-Tibetan atmosphere that just makes you want to philosophize. Think opium den, the kind you remember from the token psychedelic scene in those lame '60s youth-culture flicks. But here's the stunner: It works! Ornate, carved wooden doors open to oval archways and an impressive collection of Eastern artwork. The layout is a labyrinthine of inspiration. Take a right and there's a dance floor and... read more
