La Verdad

About this business

Established in 2006, Chefs Ken Oringer and Michael Ginore believed that authentic Mexican cuisine would be very well received by Boston foodies. They teamed with the Lyons Group and created a power house team to present authentic Mexican fare in a lighter, cleaner presentation than we have grown accustom to in the North East. There vision is proudly presented as La Verdad. We are located very close to Fenway Park.

Good food, terrible drinks. I went for $1 taco night (Tuesdays) and if I had to rate La Verdad on their tacos, they would get 5 stars. Everything else is just A-Ok - it would have been only 2 stars, but I couldn't do that to a Ken Oringer restaurant. You can't beat $1 for delicious tacos, but a place named "La Verdad" should have fantastic margaritas too! The margarita I ordered came in a rocks glass, with a ridiculous amount of salt, and practically NO alcohol in it. They charge $8 for basically a virgin margarita. This is ... read more

Guac, Tacos, Margaritas, Baseball <3 – Start with a margarita. Or sangria. Or a Corona or Dos Equis. What else are you going to do? You're in a Mexican restaurant? Try some of the tacos.. there are flavors for every palate. There will be leftover nachos. Bring friends :) You can even purchase a Mexican fighting mask and look like Jack Black in that terrible movie... AND it's across the street from Fenway. Load up here before the game and you won't be kicking yourself later for all the crap you ate at the park :) You'll be in... read more

quick and tasty The cafe is great for a quick bite. I recommend the chips and guacamole. The quesadillas are really big too, but go for one with meat.

tacos for everyone! – I recently went here with some friends. We were seated somewhat near the door and it was freezing! My friend ordered wine and there was a bug in her glass. When she showed it to the waitress the glass was taken away and quickly replaced. It took a long time for our food to arrive, which was weird because the place was fairly empty. There is no free chips, salsa, or bread. When our food did arrive someones order was completely wrong...I dont think its worth going here. The drinks are okay...nothing uber ... read more

La Verdad is right to satisfaction We went here once before a game. It was rather busy and crowded but it was a really fun time. I loved the margaritas. Our server was entertaining and friendly. The meat quality was really good and everything was to satisfaction

Pato is awesome – I could eat the duck tacos forever. The drinks are expensive but they're equally awesome. I come here w/ my wife before games or nice summer nights. Eat great food have a few frozen drinks and bill isn't huge. I love this place.

great tacos Went here last night before a show at the new House of Blues. We got seats at the bar which was great. It was pretty busy but really cleared out once people left to head over to the Sox game. The margaritas were really tasty, but pretty small and very weak, especially since they were $8-12 each. The tacos were yummy - I had a "choose three" combo plate with carne asada, carnitas, and chili relleno. The steak and pork quality were great - much better than some other mexican places. I'll definitely go again, but I ... read more

Tacos – I will never turn down a La Verdad taco. I am originally from California and good mexican food is severely lacking in Boston. For some reason, corn tortillas are not that popular here. Sadness. Then La Verdad came around and changed everything. The corn tortillas in all of the tacos here are made fresh and are awesome. I order a side order of them and eat them with the guacamole, which is equally as good. The shrimp tacos are covered in "governor's sauce" which should probably just read "delicious sauce." Beef tacos ... read more

Fish tacooooooooooooosssssssssssssssss – FISHTACOFISHTACOFISHTACO. I freaking love fish tacos and I'm proud to say it. I thought I would find no equal to fish tacos I'd had in California, and then I was introduced to La Verdad. Sweet little handmade tortillas, flaky perfectly battered fish, some shredded cabbage and 3 sauces-avocado puree, chipotle mayo and crema which expode in a tangy ooze outa the sides of the taco and down your face. But who cares, you've found nirvana. The corn is perfect, chargrilled with chili powder,... read more
