Our chef Sal was born in Sant'Andrea, Calabria and has had a passion for the culinary art since a young boy. He held a position as the Head Chef at Colonial Manor, a catering hall in Old Tappan New Jersey, for 10 years. In 2000, Sal and his wife Cathy opened La Fontanella and have since expanded their restaurant with the addition of a private party room. I have never been to La Fontanella until yesterday.we were invited to a birthday party and so glad we were..Not only because of the invite, but the place is amazing.The food is amazing..from first to last dish. My husband and I will be dining there on our next dinner out.Will be getting friends to dine there as well. Kudo's to the staff, cooks and wait service.
Went on a Saturday night for dinner. Service was friendly and efficient, atmosphere was casual and relaxing, and food was delicious. White peach sangria was amazing! Enjoyed everything we ordered, especially Shrimp Portofino, mussels in garlic white wine sauce, and eggplant rollatini. Food was served at a nice pace- everything wasn't brought to the table at once (which is so annoying). Loved the homemade tiramisu. Would definitely recommend this family-owned restaurant. Thanks for a great dining experience.

You can dine here at any time and get not only delicious, freshly prepared food, made to order by a fantastic chef, but you will get treated like a King/Queen by his lovely wife, daughters and staff. I'm very happy to have found them, and will keep dining here for as long as they'd like to have me..
