LA Fitness will not cancel my membership even after I walked into the location and spoke with the manager, and the sales rep that sold me the membership. They make it extremely inconvenient to cancel a membership. They also charged me $49.99 for their yearly membership. My partner and I cancelled memberships in November 2020. We took the paperwork into the location and confirmed with the staff member that was all they needed. Last month (July 2021) we got charged for a membership fee and an annual fee - upon further investigation we also got charged in December 2020. Please do not sign Up for personal trainer at LA Fitness! They rip off your money for what they do not provide you at all! LA Fitness is a bad company. To cancel a membership, you must come into the facility that you signed up with or send in a cancelation form. I work m-f, ***** hours a day, and commute 2 hours a day. I signed up for the membership when I was out on leave with a neck and lower back injury. I don't want the membership because it's not being used. So I signed up 2 people for the *** pass to check out the gym located at *************************************** my referral was told she could not use the pass no one gave her a reason why luckily a stranger let her use her as a guest. When we asked they said they already had too many guest passes validated for the day and also with that pass she was unable to use it for the zumba class when it clearly states on pass valid for classes. LA Fitness is a scam. When I signed up, you are required to pay a processing fee and first and last months monthly fees. HOWEVER, if you decide to cancel your membership online, they will require you to MAIL a form so I decided to walk in to cancel. I've tried walking in multiple times to cancel and multiple times, workers would say the manager isn't there. I bought into a 6 month training program that I wanted to cancel a few days later. Rather than being told about my statutory right to cancel, the manager, Nico, told me I had to pay for a cancellation fee. Because that wasn't in writing, I now have to pay said cancellation fee. I only got one training session where he showed me some basic exercises and that was it. No diet plan, no exercise plan, no tracking.
