I had to move due to COVID related job loss and tried to cancel my LA Fitness membership. I was instructed that I had to come into the facility in order to cancel, something that is impossible because I no longer live near an LA Fitness and do not want to have to enter the facility due to COVID. The customer rep. was very rude in responding to my request. After I told her I could not come into the gym as I had moved to a new state, she replied in a snarky voice "well we have clubs in that state too." I would like someone fro... read more
Visited the store today to sign up for a new membership. After paying, you sign a pin pad in which you have no idea what you are agreeing to. I thought I was signing for the payment, but discovered shortly after, I was signing some unread waivers. I requested a copy of what I was signing, but I did not receive the copy. It is bad practice and sketchy to have customers sign waivers in which they do not know what is on them.
The gym and personal training themselves are pretty good in my opinion. That warrants at least two stars. Everything else about these two things is questionable. The company treats you like a number and not a paying customer when you sign your life away for a 1 year PT contract. Their contract with you is draconian and you have no rights under it. No appealing, no cancellation without a medical excuse ... no sympathy when you want to get out of it if you're doing bad financially or are legitimately worried about getting sick... read more
I have been a member for a LOT of years! I have been trying to cancel my membership since Jan. I was deployed to combat zone and was trying to complete before I left the country and the OG wasn't available. I tried to call and was told someone would need to come in personally. I sent an email and no response. I just went to my local fitness center yesterday (I am back in the states) and was told to come back today. I just went back and was told the OG was the only one that could help me and he wouldn't be back until Thursday... read more
I have emailed and tried calling numerous times. I can't seem to get a hold of anyone at LA FITNESS to cancel membership. They debit my account monthly. At the beginning of the pandemic they sent email that everyone's account was on hold. NOT TRUE they continue to debit account starting in March until now. I've email corporate office and League City locations within a months time period with no response from either.
If it was possible to give 0 stars I absolutely would. I was charged after covid closure, and when they opened they have no plans to introduce a reservation system when all other gyms are offering this service. With limited operating capacity and shortened hours in a highly populated area, this means I won't be able to use their services, and I thought it was unfair that I'd be charged a freeze fee when this isn't due to my personal reasons. When I brought this up to both reception and via email, reception smiled and said th... read more
The gym is fine as long as you never need to change anything about your membership. Once you need to change something, you realize they have the worst customer service ever. The operations manager is the only person in the building that can answer any questions other than "Where is the bathroom?" or "What time is it?" The managers are apparently never there. I called numerous times and every single time I was told they would leave a message which only resulted in 1 callback. I called 4 different clubs and it was the same thi... read more
LA Fitness Refuses to Support the Health and Safety of a High-Risk Member during COVID-19: I would like to begin by saying that I have had the worst experience trying to resolve canceling the remainder of my personal training sessions I cannot attend due to my health and safety. Over the course of 30 days I have attempted to resolve this issue 11 different times with LA Fitness's managers. They have been extremely unprofessional and careless in their understanding of the virus. I have submitted all of the paperwork needed to... read more
Refused to help at-risk COVID patients in reimbursing unused membership. Spent more than half an hour arguing with my husband on the phone after they charged a $50 annual fee RIGHT AFTER he told them he could not come in to use the facilities and they had assured him he would only be charged a $10/month holding fee. This place definitely feels like a total scam, and at the very least has the worst customer service I have ever experienced.
