I'm reading these reviews far too late. I could have saved financial ruin had I joined The Y or other facility that respects it's members. My complaint is about company wide business practices regarding PT contracts. I am a 65 yr old female who is no stranger to a gym but could not afford membership after moving to Florida to help my sister through a divorce. This company is rather unfair with contract policies- as I have paid for services which are not rendered
AVOID signing any contract; employees truly don't care about your wellbeing. Signed up for personal training in august, since this time unfortunately my younger sister has been diagnosed with cancer, I have to cut back drasticaly on work in order to help my family. I have not been able to use this service since October but still continued to pay $678 monthly. Cancelling your membership is intentionally difficult. You can sign up easily; however, cancelling requires downloading a form and mailing the form in. The manager will accommodate cancelling when she is at work M-F 0900 - 1700. She stated the process to use the postal service was to 'track's the process. I don't know if she believes her own response. I believe the significant difference in signing up and canceling demonstrates disregard for the community; therefore, I recommend finding a different gym.
customer service visit sucks! I was trying to get my membership 5 day pass tryout at Seattle Aurora Ave North. I met with Heather P****, who told me that there is no membership tryout available any more but I can only register for yearly subscription. I was surprised because I saw the 5 day pass for trial on the website. I argued that please check website. Heather P**** asked me if I did not do the membership I could leave now. Very disappointed! Me and my wife were members as family. It was very easy to become a member but very hard to cancel membership. Since we moved, I was not able to cancel membership online and I had to drive to the gym where me and my wife were members and asked to cancel my family membership. I was told it was cancelled. Very bad experience! Staff profiles: race, gender, and sex. I guess you only can be “white” to use facilities or try to get a guess pass. Very disrespectful management! Had 3 different people tell me they were the manager! Un-knowledgeable about services when ask! Didn’t have patience! These things I’ve experience can only be becuz of some judgement. Well, if your not of the “majority” race be aware. Because, money is not as “worthy” as theirs!
Not a place you can trust! I never would go again.
