I signed up for LA Fitness in November of 2019 during their $100 down, $19.99/month promotion, which I negotiated to $50 down and $19.99/month. I notice my card was charged $32.35, and low and behold, has been charged $32.35 for the last 4 months, along with several other suspicious charges. The day I opened my account I was supposed to be charged the $50 initiation, plus first and last months dues. Very very poor customer service.... Firstly, I scheduled an appointment and voiced how tight my schedule was. I was given an appointment based on those needs. I was told I would be the first one seen if I showed up at Eight A.m I asked if I could book over the phone cause I saw some great deals, he told me he could beat those deals but I would have to come in. I have been an LA fitness member for some time, however after a work location change and having an in office gym, my usage dropped off entirely and it no longer made sense to continue the membership since it was so out of the way. When I attempted to cancel I discovered that cancelling is not allowed in person at a club or over the phone. I have been to LA Fitnes in Buford Georgia for over a year. I have observed that they have made a habit of changing staff quite often. that is, if you talk to the supervisor now, when the new one comes, it is no longer valid what you spoke. Today I decided to move to another gym because of the conversation I had with the current supervisor, who was very rude and probably does not know that the salary he receives is from people like me who pay every month. By far one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a gym. I walked in stating I was looking to leave my current gym and wanting to use the 5day guest pass that’s offered. Their General Manager, Nichalos, pushed for either a $15 drop in or a membership- he stated that they don’t offer any guest passes. Even though there is a flyer on his desk about it and me mentioning that the company site states a 5day guest pass he refused to give me a pass to try out their facility. I've been a member of LA Fitness for a long time, and I want to complain about personal training. On 6/5/2019, I signed up for my personal training course and delivered the down payment ($ 459) on the same day. I chose to pay in installments, once a month, and each payment is $ 360 for a total of five months. I have been a customer of L.A. fitness for a long time and overall I really enjoy the clubs themselves and the classes they offer. My compliant is with the personal training department. I also had been a client for many years and recently had about 15 session (that I already paid for) disappear from account. Extremely unethical company! All they care about is your money and once they get it, they do not care about your family‘s needs or your children! The only reason I signed up with la fitness was because of the Kids Klub. There was a breach in contract due to inadequate services. On 1/31/2020, I took my child to la fitness (Alicia pkwy) and was unable to leave my child due to lack of staff. This gym just underwent a 2 week "remodel" over the holidays. We were led to believe it would have new machines...…..top of the line. Not so! None of the machines have built-in tvs and 2 of the ceiling-hung tvs are broken already. If you like Larry King infomercials, then you'll love this! All the aerobic equipment is located upstairs where there's no fans and it's naturally very warm. It's not a healthy atmosphere. The hot air is stagnant! And the elliptical machines do not have built-in fans...The treadmills have worthless... read more
