This rating is for the management not the terrain or snow conditions. Closing early every year with great snowpack? They used to open til May and do things for pass holders. Once they stop selling inflated tickets they close in early April. Shame on you Vail. Sierra at tahoe and Mountain collective here we come... ☹️
I wish Vail never bought this place. They do nothing to make it great and they close early every year. The resort should be open till the end of April. I buy my pass will the illusion they’ll be open all season but realty is, once they take your money they don’t care what it means to you and your season. I've probably been directly responsible for at least 20 different people getting and renewing season passes over the last 15 years, and have been a Kirkwood fanatic. The mountain is still the same amazing place, but Vail has ruined it. The pass prices have nearly doubled, they are now closing 3 weeks earlier, and they have made absolutely no improvements. Vail is doing their best to ruin Kirkwood. After a dry season that finally got some snow, Vail is closing Kirkwood 3 weeks early. With no improvements in the five years they have owned it and no fix for the limited parking, they are just milking people for as much as they can get without putting any of the money back into the mountain.
We were lucky to have an amazing day of skiing with great conditions and lower than usual individuals on the slopes!!
Skied Kirkwood on Sunday/Feb 25 and Monday in fresh powder/Feb 26th. From Philadelphia, PA. Skiing was the best and had a blast.
