Been boarding all over Tahoe since the '80's and have been going to Kirkwood for just as long. Although I'm partial to the North shore the wood has been my South shore spot of choice. Staff are extremely cool, the runs are sick and it usually gets a good amt of snow with most storms. The only negative things are too much traversing to get to the good tree runs, and of course the ticket prices are getting out of hand. Kirkwood Mountain Resort is not only unique in its terrain, but also in it's community. Today, I enjoyed countless conversations with guest and employees alike. In addition, I am exhausted from chutes, drains, turning through trees, hitting jumps in the park, and overall exploring the mountain. I did make sure to take a few moments, to enjoy the beauty, capturing a shot of Thimble Peak and Heart Chute in the distance. The energy is superb and the remoteness is refreshing. Everyday is a great day at Kirkwood Mountain Resort.
