Smaller than some other Tahoe area resorts, but makes up for it in authenticity and challenging terrain. This is a true skier's (or boarder's) mountain. No frills, just steeps. I'll never forgive Squawllyworld for jacking tix up to a staggering $160/day, so I'm skiing other mountains. Kirkwood is a hike, but the difficult terrain and constant snow have given me some of the best ski days I can remember. Worth the trip.

Awesome terrain. Not enough high-speed chairs. The resort itself feels like it leave a little to be desired - it's in desperate need of a facelift and does not feel up to par as a Vail resort.
