Excellent food, great personnel – My husband took me to this restaurant for our 5th anniversary. It's not the fanciest place and he knows I like that relaxed environment with great food and excellent service, this place meets all that and more. All waiters were super nice and helpful, they knew their menu very well and explained our dishes. They answered all our questions and suggested good sake. I'll definitely be back, just this time I'll ask for a table in the back since the one we got was right at the entrance and the wi... read more

Hidden gem – After hearing about this place for so long, I decided to try it out. Boy am I bummed it took me so long to try. I had the seared toro, which was better than anything I've had in awhile. Really good vietnamese spring rolls. The mini crunchy crabs were good, too. The executive chef used these specials salts for each dish. It was quite remarkable. I wish it was open tonight.

Great sushi for the purists – Kiriko is one of these hard to find places that you'll always keep in your book if you're a true sushi lover. This place is far away from all these standard bland americanized roll shops. We went "oma kase" four times there already, and everytime, the chef had us try something different, and progressively going from the easy to the more occult japanese dishes. I'm not a big fan of the sea cucumber or the baby eels, but I'm glad he had me try them, as I would never have thought about ordering any... read more

Maybe an Off Day – Took a client from Japan and I was a little disappointed. The sushi was not up to par from my last visit. Maybe it was an off day, the sushi was a 5 out of 10 and the kitchen was a 7 out of 10 on the night that we went. My guest enjoyed it very much, he said the sake menu had a good selection, and the service was good. This was probably an off day.

slow service.. – took them 2 hours to prepare 3 dishes...4 of us ordered 'omakase-pre fixe' sushi dinner which was about 80 bucks per person..by the 2nd hour, all of us were hungry, tired, and lost interests...we comlained, but failed to get apology from the owner..happened on 7-29 Sunday around 7 PM..

Don't Order the Ice Cream – Don't go there for the ice cream unless you want to be refused service. The waiter said the owner has a wierd policy that you must order what he feels is a "full meal." I went there with my date and ordered the ice cream... the owner got angry and refused to serve us because we did not order a full meal. This place leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

Great Sushi – I love their sushi. Some of the freshest in LA. Service has never been bad when I have been there. The food is expensive, around $100 per person. Some of the dishes are unusual. I watched a lobster cut in half moving in a bowl for 20 minutes as the chef removed the insides. Still, a great place for sushi. Crowd is 50% non-Asian. Chefs speak English fluently.

super horrendous service – Service was extremely poor and snail pace slow on a Wed night. Took 10 mins to wave down waitress and ordered. Asked twice for our drinks 10 mins after ordering before getting them. Ordered two omakase at a table. It came in three courses with an average wait of 30 mins between each course. Then asked three times after the third course if there was anymore food and 20+ mins later we were told that was the last course. Total number of pieces of sushi - 13 per person. Total dinner time from sit down ... read more
