The owners of this complex mandate that any cats living there have been physically mutilated in a process similar to chopping the front of their fingers off. it's absolutely barbaric and for this complex to require it is monstrous. I wouldn't pay a dollar on these property and I wouldnt suggest them if I was being paid to.
Declawing your cats is mutilation. It permanently scars your cat, changes their behavior, and makes them defenseless if they get outside. You’re cutting off what is essentially their fingertips, it changes how they walk. Requiring people mutilate their pets to live in your building is borderline criminal. Cats will not scratch carpet if properly cared for.
Declawing cats is barbaric. Many vets will not perform the procedure now and legislation is being passed to make it illegal. It is inhumane and causes many problems for the cat. Any apartment building or rental management that requires you to declaw your cat to live there is not a good place to live.
