I have been in many hospitals and a few nursing homes through the years and Kindred Hospital Pittsburgh is a cut above the rest. I am treated like a member of the family by their kind and caring staff. I would reccommend them to anyone who needs acute care - I am confident about their care.

My son Walter was admitted to Kindred Hospital Pittsburgh on June 13,2014. Immediately everyone was helpful, courteous and friendly from the first person at the front desk to the medical staff caring for Walter to the administration personnel. Everyone is very respectful of Walter's needs and are working toward his best interests for all areas of his recovery? The CEO John Burton was especially helpful in facilitating Walter's admittance and helping with the many details that are necessary with an out of country patient.

My husband Jim had a wonderful experience at Kindred. He came to the facility following a brain anurysm (after being at UPMC Presby). The entire staff did a fabulous job coordinating his care and keeping me informed. The therapists were instrumental in his gains and during the past few weeks, Jm made strides that no one would have ever predicted. Jim is talking and trying to strengthen his arms and legs. I have had several stays at Kindred Hospital. They have always met my needs. This time with it being the holiday season they have gone above and beyond to help keep my spirits up. Thank you Kindred.
I can't say enough about the profesional yet caring people that i have met while being a paitent. It was so refreshing to have people take time to explain things clearly and to actually listen to me about what i was feeling as far as pain or discomfort and then do everything in their power to make me comfortable. After six weeks of rehab, I am ready to go home. In this time at Kindred I have seen some exceptional nurses, especially Missy. She is always there to answer your every need with a smile. Most of the other nurses also are great, taking care of all your needs professionally. Cleanliness is not an issue as the houskeeping staff keep all the rooms spotless. My one concers is the shortage of staff. I have seen many days when the nurse has to work without an aide to assist. This means that the nurse must do both jobs. This only d... read more
