This longtime Baltimore favorite is something of an anomaly; in a city where crab cakes are king, its signature seafood dish is shrimp salad. On closer examination, it's easy to see why. The shrimp are big, perfectly steamed, and dressed in a savory sauce. And the portions are huge. The rest of the hearty American fare (like a great Prime Rib) is also very nice. The restaurant has a casual, homey feel, with comfortable booths, dark paneling and a very friendly staff.

Sour Beef was close to Mom’s but light on the ginger snaps for my taste. Overall a good dining experience.

Shrimp salad was the bomb. Crab soup was spectacular! Highly recommend!
