Would not recommend moving in here Disorganized management will enter your apartment constantly. Smells like cigarettes in hallways and cigarette smoking in gardens enters apartments through your windows and AC unit. Shared laundry room is filthy and stocked with old and rarely-maintenanced machines. Many apartments suffer from reoccurring mice/rodent problems. And its over-priced.

Business response:

Dear Anonymous, We are disappointed to learn of your experience here at Kew Gardens, but we will take this opportunity to improve. As you may know, we recently renovated our laundry facilities in 2014/15 and installed brand new washer & dryers last year (2017). We take your feedback and concerns ver y seriously and ask that you please contact the Property Manager (Marina) at your earliest convenience to address all of your concerns. Thank you, BMC Customer Service

Kew Gardens Apts could improve by 1) management could be friendlier and more organized, 2) management could avoid entering my apartment monthly for repeat fire alarm checks, 3) management could work to eliminate cigarette smell from hallways and common areas, 4) the shared laundry room could be cleaner and machines better maintained, and 5) quicker execution of hallway renovations (6 months and counting!) I do not recommend moving in to Kew Gardens or any Bernstein-owned apts.

Nice, but needs serious work Kew Gardens was originally built in the 1920's. It has the charms of an old building: Brick construction, actual hardwood floors, and architecture with character. Of course, that means it has all of the flaws of an old building, such as creaky floors that aren't level, and poor sound insulation. The building is also not equipped to handle the degree of mail that comes in these days thanks to online retail: boxes are left unsecured and unattended in the common areas. The management team is friendl... read more
