Avoiding. He failed to measure my legs. Even though hip surgery was done in same office, records available easily, he missed the hip caused one leg to be longer which caused issues for foot. He was hesitant to do an MRI. He did not have solution besides pain shots and orthotics. He wanted to do surgery. Very invasive. Bad news, would not address the real issue: left leg shoe needed lift. Dr. Hegwald performed 2 surgeries on my right foot. I had such pain I was unable to stand more than a couple minutes. He repaired. My fallen arch inserting a titanium plate & bolts. It healed perfectly. Next he put pins in 3 toes to straighten. I have had no pain, no problems & look forward to having the left foot done.

I didn’t know if I’d ever regain my mobility and or be pain free in my foot and ankle. Just months after surgery and I’m running after my toddler. Couldn’t be happier with the care I received.

Dr. Hegewald performed what I believed would be a simple ankle surgery to improve my pain and mobility. I am many months post surgery and in pain every day and have far less mobility than before. When I ask the doctor about the surgery and my prognosis, he is uncaring and defensive. He may be a good doctor if things go well but he won’t be there for you if they don’t.

My spouse went to Dr. Hegewald for a foot injury. He was kind before the surgery but immediately afterward was blunt and callous about the negative results of the surgery. We are not happy with his care or the results and wish we could go back in time.

Dr Hegewald did an open reduction on my right ankle in 2015, after I slipped in a creek while hiking. Honestly I thought I would never be able to run or exercise nor walk again but the surgery Dr Hegewald did saved my foot with 3 plates and about 12 screws. I’m thankful for the great job he did and wish he had never moved away from Bay Area. Thank you Dr!!!

I slipped on ice over the holidays, and Dr. Heglwald placed a post and two screws in my ankle. He did a great job and was easily accessible threw texting!! I wish more doctors allowed this option!! I was able to quickly check if I could take my ankle into the pool while on holidays! He’s super kind and friendly and so is his assistant Katie!

Dr Hegewald is an outstanding surgeon. From my first consult with him in 2016, he has always treated me with respect and genuine concern and care. . The extensive surgery he performed to repair my ankle has allowed me to walk without pain and to enjoy the outdoors again. Thank you Ken for making my life better.

What luck! My doctor referred me to Dr. Hegewald and I was very happy with both my visits. He expeditiously removed my painful seed corns and calluses, and told me why I was having them. He also made inserts for my shoes and recommended a cream that would help prevent reoccurrence. He also offered options for future treatment if I needed them, for the arthritis in my ankle post fracture. Every doctor's visit should be as successful as these! Thanks Doc!
