Kick back on the Kennebec Located on the banks of the Kennebec River, the Kennebec Tavern pairs tasty seasonal fare with a front seat view of the sparkling waterfront. Centuries ago, the Abenaki gave the Kennebec River its name, which means "long level water." In the 17th century, sailors called Bath?s three-mile stretch of river the "Long Reach," as it provided deep anchorage and good landing sites, and allowed them to sail the stretch without tacking. I thought the service was prompt and courteous. I don’t remember his name but our server was a young man from Poland, the country. The food was wonderful and burger was cooked exactly the way I ordered. The fries are awesome. I usually don’t care for the thick steak fries type but the seasoning on them and crunchyness was great. Even with the fly bugging me occasionally, because they had the doors open, we had a wonderful time.
Great service, even better food😍😍
Service was adequate at best, hoping for great Maine seafood only to be so turned off by the poor quality, not sure I will eat any seafood from this state. Prices were very high and sad to say fast food would have tasted better. Setting was very nice. Being from Seattle area, it was a great disappointment. Staff tried, but seemed very inexperienced.
Always one of our Bath Favorite spots!!
I've been coming to the Kennebec Tavern for several years. Some years the service is poor, some years great. Tonight, the service & food was good but served on paper plates and bowls. I expect this with take out, not when I go the a sit down restaurant. A disappointing experience.
Business response:
Hi Sarah, I’m very sorry for your experience. Our dishwasher broke yesterday so paper plates became our only option. We’ve been hard at work getting it up and running again. We are definitely not switching to paper plates! Someone should have informed you of the situation and I’m very sorry that didn’t happen.
If you are looking for high prices with low quality food and great wait service in a fancy setting this is the place for you.Could not taste the small amount of seafood over the onions and other spices in the seafood chowder. The lobster roll was mostly lettuce and roll with a little lobster, equals $100.00/lb for the lobster in it. Great wait staff though.
Awesome food and drinks the atmosphere can't be be
We love sitting by the water so that is what drew us to your place - but we really enjoyed our food - I had the Maine Cajoun Stew and it was super YUMMIE! The service was kind and swift and the prices were great! Thanks very much for a lovely evening - it was a wee bit chilly - perhaps you could have had those gas heaters.... but we just bundled up!
Tasty food, but skimpy serving size, nice view, not a lot of value, probably won't go back
