The Dr.is exactly as described in these reviews. Very off-putting, interrogation-not consult,and no empathy or patience. I am unsure why she is in this field if she is so intolerant of people that are looking for help. Please avoid this office at all cost. Read the reviews! I made the mistake of just trusting the process of referral. Please advocate for a different provider. Your health will thank you!
Dr. Portnoff is terrible. I have seen her 3 times and found her to be rude and dismissive. She wouldn't take my questions and discounted my symptoms. Gaslighting comes to mind. Don't waste your time or money here.
I've seen this provider three times and she has been consistently brusque, dismissive and rude. That would be tolerable if she was also helpful but she has not been. In our last visit, her exam was perfunctory. She dismissed my concerns and seemed annoyed that I had come in. Following our most recent visit, I reached out to my neurologist for a referral to another provider. I experience significant pain and discomfort on a daily basis and will not subject myself to this type of experience again.
Listen to these reviews and hard pass. I wished I had checked here instead of Google. These reviews are 100% spot on. This was the absolute worst experience I have ever had at a doctor's visit. I wanted to leave within the first 120 seconds of meeting this provider! That's a first for me. And I deeply regret not trusting my gut and doing so, as it would have saved me the stress and complete waste of time of sitting through that horrible visit. I have a diagnosed autoimmune disorder. I gave this doctor my records clearly showing why I had that diagnosis. All she had to do was prescribe the common autoimmune drug that I was already on. She completely blew me off while I ran out of medication. She also denied that I could have severe pain & completely ignored the dangerous vasculitis symptoms I was having. I paid over $500 out of pocket to waste my time running out of medication.
She made a diagnosis before I ever stepped through the door and nothing I said was going to change her mind. She then became visibly upset when I questioned her.
I was polite and respectful with her during every visit, though I was in considerable discomfort. Dr. Portnoff laughed at me on two occasions. She diagnosed me with a condition that I didn't have and which didn't match my symptoms, and she denied the diagnosis other specialists had made.
Dr. was personable and thorough with regards to testing.
I transferred my rheumatology care to Dr. Portnoff when moving to Portland from out of state. It was immediately clear Dr. Portnoff did not consider my diagnosis of Psoriatic Arthritis to be valid, her reasons being that my inflammatory markers were not elevated in blood panels, and x-rays did not indicate damage.
