Dr. Lawhorn is an excellent physician. He works in a very busy office as all orthopedic offices in the Northern VA area are these days. But, he takes his time to explain your condition to you and how he can help you. Our family has been to other orthopedic surgeons for kids' sport injuries and my husband's back surgery, and Dr. Lawhorn is the best specialist we have seen thus far. He's very professional, patient and experienced.
Was a patient of Dr. Lawhorn when he first started his private practice when he got out of the military- Excellent doctor back then, in professionalism & experience. Went back to him for knee problems & completely shocked at how he had changed-barely had time for me & obvious that he didn't bother to review my chart & history. Kept yawing most of the time, as if he was overworked, & basically offered me a "band-aid" solution of shots, without any real discussion of my condition.
I have seen Dr. Lawhorn for a shoulder injury and would recommend him to my family and friends. I drive over 50 miles to see him because I don't feel comfortable seeing any ortho MD's in my town. I work in the medical field and understand how important it is to find a provider you trust, I trust Dr. Lawhorn and will keep seeing him for any other ortho issues that may come up.
