Katherine's is my kind of shop Katherine's was the second store I visited (with my mom) and when I went back for my second visit I purchased my oh so special wedding gown, first of all they were so helpful, I found my gown on my first visit with them but I had to think about it. My bridal consultant was so very nice and helpful, she really listened to what it was I wanted and we found it - and she understood that I needed to think about it, I actually went out to lunch and realized I needed to go back and order my gown. not the best I've been around to many of the NoVA bridal boutiques. Katherine's has a limited collection, which includes some very nice dresses, but I didn't feel at ease there. I arrived on time for my appointment and still had to wait for a trunk show to be over so I can try on dresses. They only have 2 fitting rooms, so you have to wait. I tried on about 5 dresses, 2 of which are from their "private collection". Worst experience ever....left crying This was my first bridal dress shopping experience and I really wanted it to be fun and exciting! Needless to say, it was anything BUT. Long story short, after eye-rolling, terrible condescension, and being told to try dresses on that were not at all what I wanted, I left in tears. I had an hour long appt but after 29 minutes I was told to leave. "you aren't going to buy, so why try on?" Who says that? How do you know I am not going to buy? Friendly service My friend just recently got married and when she was looking for dresses, this was one of the first places we visted. When we entered the store the employees there were very friendly and very helpful.
DON'T BUY HERE ITS A NIGHTMARE PLEASE DO NOT BUY ANYTHING HERE. I ordered a bridesmaids dress in April and it was suppossed to be shipped to me by the middle of july. The wedding is august 28th so I thought this would be plenty of time. When I called at the end of July to ask when I should expect to receive the dress they were rude and told me they would check on it and call me back. Katherine's Bridal Boutique I'm not sure if we went to the same store, but I went to Katherine's on a Tuesday without an appointment and was helped by Kathy who was fantastic. We tried on several dresses and found a gorgeous one. My budget was always taken into consideration, and there were several dresses that she pulled that were almost 1000 dollars below my budget. They were very nice and friendly and certainly not pushy at all. I would absolutely recommend them.
Small, dark, pushy, uncomfortable... nice dresses though. Very small shop though they do carry some of the more upscale lines. Their private collection is also quite lovely. I liked the things I tried on, however... I don't remember the name of the girl I worked with, but apparently my description of the general style I was looking for matched a certain dress they had that they were trying to sell at a reduced price off-the-rack. Don't bother making an appointment Don't waste your time! I arrived for my 12:00 appointment on time, after a long wait a sales women finally spoke to me. After answering questions regarding my budget, she assumed I would not pay more than 3K for a dress. She then told me that the fitting rooms were full and I would have to wait..... In the mean time she did not look threw any dresses with my mom and I. After a 30 min we walked out. Try Hitched in Georgetown. Worth your time and money. I found Kristen helpful.
Perfect. Thank you! So happy I found Katherine's! I couldn't have been happier with them! I am shocked by some of the negative reviews - doesn't even sound like the same store. I first went to Katherine's in Sept 2010 for my May 2011 wedding. It was easy to get an appointment. I went early on a Saturday. They were busy, but not crowded, and always attentive.
